Hi I am using the .NET CF 2D charting package on a Windows CE device with a 320 x 240 portrait-style screen i.e. screen is taller than it is wide. One of my users has asked if i could extend my app so that he could toggle the graph display between portrait and landscape. i.e. basically rotate the entire chart so its drawn sideways. This way the drawing area would be wider than it is tall, allowing him to see the data more easily. Is this possible to do with the charting controls (i.,e. to rotate just the chart), or will i need to look at programatically rotating the entire Windows CE display somehow (e.g. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/davidklinems/archive/2006/04/17/programmatically-rotating-the-screen-using-the-net-compact-framework.aspx)
You would have to rotate the entire CE display, independent of our software, as you describe. You would size the ChartView to match the, new rotated display in landscape mode, with width greater than height.
