Where can I find a EULA containing rights and restrictions if the source code is purchased? In other words, if I purchase the source code for the SPC charts that includes the baseline 2D charting tools, do we still require redistributable licenses, etc? How can the source code be modified and redistributed? What limitations and/or advantages exist with buying the source code?
Any clarification would be appreciated. |

There is not a special EULA for the source code. The terms are the same as the Developer License EULA. You can use the source to create an application program (not a developer tool) that you can redistribute. You cannnot redistribute any part of our actual source code. You can make whatever changes you want to the source, we would still consider it derivative work and covered under our license.
Yes, you still need a redistributable license, regardless if you make changes to the underlying source code.
How can the source code be modified and redistributed? You would modify our source files, compile your own version of the DLL libraries, and redistribute those files.
What limitations and/or advantages exist with buying the source code? That's for you to decide. In our opinion it could be because you wanted to make changes to our libraries and did not want to hire us to make the changes for you. Or you want insurance in case we discontinued the product and/or went out of business. Or you might have a client that requires you to have a copy of the source code.
