We have a customer who is asking what the actual standard deviation calculation is that the charts use. I see in your user guide that you reference formulas from the book Introduction to Statistical Quality Control. So I dont have to buy that book, can you relay the actual formula used. I think it is pretty standard but our customer is claiming that there are different varieties of this Sigma calculation and want to know which one is actually used in the chart. Thanks.

The formula we use is:



which is known as the sample standard deviation. It is the one used in SPC calculations.
