Can a dial meter have an "elliptical" arc? Is it possible to make a meter that is 1/2 as tall as it is wide (using an elliptical arc instead of circular)?
Since there is no physical analogue to an elliptical meter, we force the arc routines to maintain an aspect ratio of 1:1 with respect to the screen. This keeps the meters circular, even when you try and place a meter in some sort of view which does not maintain a 1:1 aspect ratio.
